I am a Pinterest addict. I pin and pin and pin with high hopes of making my home, my body, and my classroom a happier, more organized, and pin-fabulous place. The problem is I have some many pintastic ideas and don't know where to start. So, I thought if I work on one pinboard a month, I can make a small, if not substantial dent in my quest to better my life. So I begin...
Even though we head back to school in August, I am pretty confident I spend enough of my time on school ideas, so I am going to dedicate August to... FITNESS! With the stress of school starting and heading back to work full time, I want to make sure that I keep up with working out, a practice that has consumed my summer days. I will blog stalk different ideas I find on Pinterest and try them out on top of my regular workout.
Currently, I am running, swimming, and doing pilates (in the comfort of my home) and the elliptical on days that I swim. I track my weight and BMI using my wii Fit (we have a love/hate relationship). A typical week for me this summer would look like this:
Monday: Elliptical 45-50 minutes, Swim practice 1 1/2 hours
Tuesday- 4 mile run, 45 minutes workout video (Jillian Michaels or Jackie Werner)
Wednesday- Elliptical 45-50 minutes, Swim practice 1 1/2 hours
Thursday- Off or easy run/walk or pilates
Friday- 4-5 mile run, 45 minute workout video ( JM or JW)
Saturday- 2 hour swim practice
Sunday- Off or easy run/walk, pilates
Keeping up this regimen has not helped me to lose weight. I do feel better and don't get tired like I did when I was not exercising. And, I am a LOT hungrier. (Which is probably why I can't lose weight).
I will track my weight and dare to post here weekly while trying out some of the hyped up exercise and eating plans that are all the rage on Pinterest. My goal? I just want to be able to keep up an active lifestyle while working and being a mom. It is hard to juggle everything, but I am hoping to become a gifted juggler! And so, I begin...
